A 31-year-old San Antonio man is facing charges after firing his weapon at four undercover officers and crashing his car into a tree. The incident unfolded on Sunday evening near the 1700 block of Horal Drive.
Police reported that agents were conducting surveillance around 6:15 p.m. when they spotted a man wanted on a narcotics arrest warrant. Officers observed the suspect displaying a firearm through his car window before he began shooting at them. The officers returned fire as the vehicle sped away.
The suspect fled the scene and was involved in several collisions before striking a tree. He exited the vehicle on foot but collapsed a short distance from the wreck. Authorities took him into custody and found he had sustained multiple bullet wounds. No officers were injured during the exchange.
