Pueblo will record a high of 80 degrees on Friday, October 23, before a cold front cuts weekend temperatures by roughly 30 degrees. The front crosses Colorado later in the day, bringing cloud cover and rain to the region. Saturday highs are forecast to fall into the 50s, ending a stretch of warm weather.

Morning conditions in Pueblo started in the 50s with breaks in the clouds. Sunlight returns along Interstate 25 around 10 a.m. as morning clouds clear. The front moves in from the west, increasing the chance of thunderstorms farther east and along the southern portion of the interstate. The city’s chance of rain on Friday is low, ranging from 10% to 20% on the south side.

Nearby cities face similar temperature drops. Colorado Springs is forecast to hit 73 degrees Friday with a low of 47. Canon City has a 20% to 30% chance of afternoon showers, with a high of 75 and a low of 49. Woodland Park will see a high of 58 and a low of 39. The Tri-Lakes area, including Monument, is forecast to reach 69 degrees Friday before Saturday highs drop to the 50s.

Southwestern Colorado locations like Walsenburg and Trinidad will reach 73 and 74 degrees, respectively, with lows of 49. Friday is expected to be the warmest day for these communities over the next seven days. The eastern plains may see thunderstorms return by Friday evening after a sunny start. Afternoon temperatures there will range from the 70s to 80s, with lows in the 50s. Mountain forecast highs are in the 60s and lows in the 30s.

Lingering moisture and flooding remain concerns in southwestern Colorado. Water levels in that area may take time to recede. Conditions are expected to calm down next week. Sunshine and partly cloudy skies are forecast, with temperatures gradually warming into the 60s. The preliminary outlook for Halloween calls for dry weather and temperatures in the 50s and 60s, though that forecast could change.
