Second Stabbing in Two Nights Rocks Pittsburgh South Side

A man remained in critical condition on Sunday after being stabbed in the neck on Pittsburgh's South Side. Police were called to a reported attack on South 13th Street near Fieger Street around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. The victim was transported to a hospital following the incident.

This was the second stabbing reported on the South Side in consecutive nights. On Friday, just before midnight, officers responded to a call near the intersection of South 14th and East Carson streets. A victim was found with a chest wound and taken to the hospital in critical condition after receiving on-scene aid.

Preliminary information indicates the Friday attack began as a fight inside Capo's, a local bar. Police found evidence of the stabbing within the establishment. No arrests have been made in either case so far.

In response to the violence, multiple South Side organizations and officials issued an open letter to the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office. The signatories included the South Side Community Council, Pittsburgh City Councilman Bob Charland, and the South Side Chamber of Commerce. They are requesting a court-ordered closure of Capo's, citing repeated safety violations.

The leaders stated that the latest stabbing demonstrated that previous efforts to resolve issues at the bar have failed. This demand follows an earlier incident this year where the DA's office acted after an alleged rape involving a patron.

The next step in the investigation involves the District Attorney's Office reviewing the request for closure while detectives continue their search for suspects in both stabbings.
