Five Halloween-themed gatherings took place across Albuquerque's senior and multigenerational centers during the week of October 26. The Department of Senior Affairs organized these events to provide festive activities for residents of various ages.
The schedule began on October 23 with a Fall Festival at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center. On October 28, the Santa Barbara Martineztown Multigenerational Center hosted a Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat event.
Three additional celebrations occurred on October 30. The Manzano Mesa center held a Halloween Pet Parade. The Barelas Senior Center hosted a members-only Ghastly Gala, while the North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center concluded the series with Fright Night.
Residents participated in dancing, trick-or-treating, and costume contests. The events allowed attendees to dress up, spend time with family, or bring costumed pets. The variety of programming aimed to engage different interests within the community.
The Department of Senior Affairs acknowledged its partners for their support. The city thanked the Department of Parks and Recreation, Albuquerque Fire Rescue, and the Albuquerque Police Department. Staff, volunteers, donors, and members also received credit for helping run the events.
