Kansas City residents should expect cool conditions and damp air through the end of this week, according to local meteorologists. The heavy rain has ceased, but a persistent layer of clouds and lower temperatures remains.
Wednesday begins near 50 degrees with a thick cloud cover. A stray spot of drizzle is possible during the morning commute. Winds from the west at 10 mph, gusting to 20 mph, will lower the perceived temperature. Highs will reach the mid to low 50s. Clouds are forecast to break from southwest to northeast, leaving northern Missouri gray while the rest of the metro sees sunshine by evening.
Thursday starts in the mid-40s with clouds. A cold front may bring a low chance of light showers in the morning. Temperatures will again reach the mid-50s as the sky clears in the afternoon. Friday brings partly cloudy skies and highs near 50 degrees.
Nights will grow colder toward the weekend. Saturday morning lows will drop to the mid-30s, with patchy frost possible in outlying areas. Saturday will be sunny and cool in the low 50s. Sunday warms to the low to mid 60s with ample sunshine, marking a favorable day for outdoor events.
A warming trend continues into early next week. Monday and Tuesday will feature dry weather and highs in the mid to upper 60s.
