Bernalillo County schedules Bridge Boulevard update meeting

Bernalillo County government manages a budget exceeding $1 billion. That financial scale supports the infrastructure projects now under review in the South Valley. County officials are convening a public session to discuss specific upgrades along the Bridge Boulevard corridor.

The meeting is scheduled for Nov. 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The venue is the South Valley Multipurpose Senior Center at 2008 Larrazolo Rd. SW. Frank Baca, the Bernalillo County Commission Vice Chair, is hosting the event alongside the Public Works department and the Public Art Program.

Agenda items include the Bridge Boulevard Phase 3 Road Improvements project. Officials will also present the Sunset Road Phase 2 Road Improvements project. Plans for public art installations along the Bridge Boulevard corridor are part of the discussion.

Baca represents the D2 district in the county government. The county serves more than 676,000 residents across Albuquerque, Los Ranchos, and Tijeras. Approximately 106,000 people live in unincorporated areas of the 1,160 square mile jurisdiction. The county employs roughly 2,500 staff members.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the planned area improvements. The session is open to the general public. No registration is mentioned in the invitation issued on Nov. 2.
