Jalen Hurts will not start for the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night when they host the Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles, who lost four straight games after opening the season 2-0, are missing more than just their signal caller. Wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are also out. Offensive linemen Jonathan Greenard and Jalyx Hunt, along with running back Saquon Barkley and guard Landon Dickerson, are listed as questionable.

Dallas enters the contest following two consecutive losses. The Cowboys scored 29 points against the Buccaneers and Packers after putting up at least 30 in each of their prior three games. Their passing attack struggled against blitzing defenses, with Dak Prescott completing 20 of 38 passes for 194 yards and no touchdowns when facing extra rushers in those two games.

Defensively, the Eagles present a different challenge for Dallas. Vic Fangio's unit has blitzed on only 24.1% of opponent dropbacks this season, the fourth-lowest rate in the NFL. This is significantly lower than the 38.8% rate the Cowboys faced from Tampa Bay and Green Bay. The Eagles have allowed opponents to complete 60.4% of passes for an average of 7.0 yards per attempt, though they have also given up eight touchdown passes.

Philadelphia's running game may be limited by injuries. If Barkley plays, he has averaged 5.5 yards per carry in the two games he has completed this season. He fully practiced on Friday for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury. If he sits, the Eagles will likely rely more heavily on backup quarterback Tanner McKee, who threw 48 passes last week.

Dallas has allowed opponents to average 4.7 yards per carry this season. Five of their six opponents have rushed for at least 165 yards. The Cowboys' defense has generated pressure on only 32.9% of dropbacks, giving quarterbacks ample time to operate.

The game will air on ESPN and ABC at 8:15 p.m. ET. DraftKings Sportsbook lists the Cowboys as 4.5-point favorites with a total points line of 43.5.

Cobie Durant is expected to return to the Dallas defense, which could shift the lineup for cornerback Daron Bland. The Cowboys' secondary will face an Eagles offense that may lean on tight end Dallas Goedert and wide receivers Makai Lemon and Darius Cooper.
