Southern Colorado enters a dry and mild stretch that will last through the weekend.
Meteorologists report that a strengthening high pressure ridge now controls the regional weather pattern. This system stabilizes conditions and drives a steady rise in temperatures across the area. The shift marks a break from recent cooler patterns, bringing abundant sunshine and low humidity to the region.
Pueblo will see a low of 34 degrees and a high of 58 degrees. Residents in the area should expect a light breeze and some cloud cover overnight on November 5. Temperatures will drop into the 30s during the night hours before beginning their climb. By Sunday and the start of the following week, highs in Pueblo will settle in the 60s. The dry air and clear skies will create pleasant conditions for outdoor activities throughout the period.
Neighboring communities will experience similar trends. Colorado Springs is forecast to have a low of 32 degrees and a high of 54 degrees. Like Pueblo, the city will see temperatures rise to the 50s before reaching the 60s by Sunday. The high pressure system will continue to build, ensuring a mild progression through the weekend.
Canon City will end the week with mid-50s temperatures and partly cloudy skies. The forecast for this area indicates a continuation of dry weather and sunshine. Conditions will remain near seasonal averages, with no major weather disturbances expected to disrupt the calm pattern.
Higher elevation zones will stay slightly cooler. Woodland Park is set for a low of 27 degrees and a high of 47 degrees. Friday may bring a loose afternoon shower to these mountain areas. Lows will hold at 28 degrees and highs at 42 degrees in the high country. Isolated and quick-moving shower chances are possible on Friday afternoon, but the weekend is expected to be drier and slightly warmer.
The extended outlook shows the weekend remaining at or above seasonal averages. Sunday is projected to be 8 to 10 degrees warmer than average in some locations. Monday will be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures reaching the upper 50s and 60s for most of the area. Wind speeds are expected to stay low as the pattern remains quiet, providing a comfortable stretch for the start of the holiday season.
