Paddington: The Musical has added more performances to its West End schedule, with producers citing "unprecedented demand" for tickets. The show will now run in London until at least June 25, 2028.

The extension follows a strong awards season. Earlier this year the production collected seven Olivier Awards, matching the record for the most wins by a musical. Among its honors were best new musical and best director for Luke Sheppard, as well as prizes for best actor, best supporting actor and best supporting actress.

The musical is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, StudioCanal and Eliza Lumley Productions on behalf of Universal Music U.K. Tom Fletcher, a member of the band McFly, wrote the music and lyrics, while Jessica Swale wrote the book. The story draws on Michael Bond's novel A Bear Called Paddington, along with the hit films that followed the bear's adventures.

Audiences outside London will get their chance as well. A new production is scheduled to open on Broadway in March 2027 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, and another will launch at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney in September 2027.

In London, the title role is shared among several performers. Sonny Monaghan provides the bear's voice and operates the remote puppetry, while Abbie Purvis and Hassan Taj perform as Paddington on stage.

They are joined by a new company of actors. Samantha Bingley plays Lady Sloane, and Alex Crandon appears as Hank the Pigeon. Linzi Hateley is Mrs Bird, Cassidy Janson is Millicent Clyde, and Sandra Marvin takes the role of Tanya. Haydn Oakley plays Mr Brown, Marc Pickering is Mr Curry, and Charlotte Wakefield is Mrs Brown. Tarinn Callender returns as Grant, and Teddy Kempner returns as Mr Gruber.

The official synopsis describes a small, lost bear from Peru who arrives in London looking for a new home. A chance meeting with the Brown family leads him into the world of Windsor Gardens. But the city is not all afternoon teas and friendly faces, and even the happiest families have cracks beneath the surface.

When a mysterious and vengeful villain sets her sights on Paddington, the Browns launch a thrilling rescue mission. In the process, the synopsis says, they realize they need this special bear as much as he needs them.
