Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green finished shooting a scripted microdrama in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The pair reunites on screen after two decades, moving from their roles in Beverly Hills, 90210 to the vertical video format. This marks the first vertical microseries for both actors.

The project is an untitled original thriller produced by vertTV. Carol Potter, a fellow alum of the 1990s drama, also stars in the series. vertTV, a Los Angeles-based studio, launched in July 2026. Founders Jeffrey Schenck, Barry Barnholtz, and Peter Sullivan previously produced more than 200 television movies for Lifetime and Hallmark. The studio now focuses on bite-sized dramas designed for mobile phones.

The shift toward vertical content reflects a wider industry trend. Spending on traditional content for linear television and streaming platforms is declining. Meanwhile, production of microdramas is increasing. vertTV aims to capture mobile phone audiences with titles like Lone Star Hearts, starring Cindy Busby and Josh Henderson. Other projects in the slate include the romance Finding Hope and the comedy Chonda.

The studio released a standalone mobile app for iOS and Android to serve as a primary distribution channel. vertTV distinguishes its production model from competitors by using real actors and physical sets. The company states it does not use generative AI in its series, a point of differentiation as AI-generated titles flood the market.
